Chief Business Develpoment Officer

Lauren O. Masterson-Rodriguez holds the position of Chief Business Development Officer at Ascent Health Services (AHS), a Cigna subsidiary located in Switzerland, boasting a workforce of more than 65 employees. As a member of AHS's founding team since its inception in 2019, Lauren has dedicated the past 4 years to establishing and leading the pharma trade relations team. Most recently, her focus has shifted to building and nurturing the business development department at AHS. Before joining AHS, Lauren's career at Cigna, based at Evernorth headquarters in Saint Louis, Missouri, encompassed roles in finance and pharmacy network strategy.

Throughout her professional journey, Lauren has maintained a steadfast commitment to diversity and inclusion. She achieved this by establishing Express Scripts' inaugural employee resource group, "Cultural Connections," in 2014. She has also actively participated in the Healthcare Business Women’s Association and supported partnerships with local universities like the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, contributing to programs aimed at assisting women in finding employment after career gaps. Lauren's involvement extends to key industry groups, including the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory committee.

Lauren's recent transition to the role of CBDO empowers her to harness her talents in expanding AHS's portfolio beyond its current offerings. This transition coincides with the launch of a new business development department at AHS, where she now serves as the primary point of contact for all new products, services, and projects introduced to the market by AHS. Leveraging her exceptional leadership and negotiation skills, along with her strategic acumen, Lauren is poised to continue steering AHS toward growth by exploring unique market opportunities.
