Revolutionizing the Semiconductor Industry with Software

Nishant Rao is a seasoned technology leader with extensive expertise in software development, network-on-chip (NoC) design, and system-on-chip (SoC) integration. As the Vice President of Software Engineering at Baya Systems, he leads the global development, verification, and deployment of the WeaverPro Software Platform, driving innovation in chiplet-based architectures and next-generation semiconductor design.

With over a decade of experience in NoC technology, cache coherency, and SoC automation, Nishant has played a pivotal role in advancing the field. He began his career at NetSpeed Systems, where he was instrumental in developing software infrastructure for algorithmic NoC construction and cache coherency. Following NetSpeed’s successful acquisition by Intel, he became the Software Lead for Configurable Fabrics at Intel, further refining his expertise in NoC design, machine learning-driven SoC automation, and high-performance computing architectures to contribute to development of cutting-edge technology.

Nishant has been instrumental in the adoption of AI in SoC design to modernize chip development practices. His contributions to NoC design and SoC automation have led to 13 granted patents, with additional applications pending. His research and thought leadership in the field are also reflected in two published papers, underscoring his impact on the semiconductor industry.

Nishant holds an MS in Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech and a B.Tech in Electronics Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai. His expertise, combined with his leadership in software engineering and semiconductor innovation, continues to shape the future of NoC design and SoC development at Baya Systems.
